The Secretary of State has given permission for a Pressure Reduction Installation to be built in open countryisde outside Tirley, Gloucestershire.

CAPRI - the Campaign against the Pressure Reduction Installation - opposed the application for five years. Although permission was eventually granted, the design, location and landscaping now authorised are significantly better than those intially proposed and stringent conditions have been imposed by the Secretary of State.

Although the PRI will now be built, it is nevertheless in our interests to ensure that it is built only as permitted - and that all the planning conditions are met. Those planning conditions can be read here.

If you have any suspicion that National Grid is not behaving as it should, please raise the matter directly with National Grid on 0800 731 0561, and let CAPRI know.

Your cooperation is vital!
